Do you have a budget?
Whether or not you are planning to work while you are away, you will most likely want to set a budget before you go. For example, say you have £2000 in savings and are planning on earning another £2000 while you are away, you will have a budget of £4000 to spend.
Sit down and create a list, write down everything you will need money for and work out how much you can afford to spend in each destination.
Where do you want to go?
When planning an around the world trip, it is important to plan out which countries and cities you want to visit. It is impossible to visit everywhere, so don’t get too hung up on the notion of seeing everything.
A good way to plan your trip is to allocate two weeks to each place you visit, and then use the amount of time you are going for to work out how many places you can visit. For example, if you are planning a six-month trip and are planning to spend two weeks in each country you visit. You would be able to visit 12 different countries during your trip.
